An effective management of critical data is typically only possible with quite some effort regarding administration and compromising on accessibility and traceability.

At the same time more and more customers and certification authorities require detailed and traceable documentation of all data and information involved in the evolution of a products lifecycle. Without this kind of documentation many companies face the challenge to loose certifications or even be excluded from projects due to the lack of consistent documentation. In the worst case this can threaten the existence of a companies business model.

Even if there are excellent solutions for this kind of information management available on the marked, the implementation of such solutions are often being viewed with skepticism by especially smaller companies.

This movie shows how with some very simple methods a sustainable and safe system for traceability and versioning can be implemented. With this approach the efforts around documentation management was greatly reduced and at the same time users experienced a significant improvement regarding accessibility of information about their products by getting preview images, linked information and searchability.

The most important achievement was in a special case the fact that a supplier was able to comply with his customers requirements and was able to provide all documentation in the correct released version managed in the presented solution.
